Working for one of Alberta's rural gas co-ops or municipal gas utilities isn't just another job, it's a way of life. Our utilities are committed to growing with and enhancing Alberta's rural communities. Our utilities are directly owned by rural Albertans - we are literally working for our neighbours to make this province a better place to live. Our offices are right in the communities we serve, and our people work, live and play right at home!

Come Home to a Better Work Life

Our utilities are always looking for new people to join their teams. There are many opportunities available in our gas utilities, including Gasfitters, Service Personnel, Administration, Management, and more. A wide range of training is even available, with many courses offered through the Federation of Alberta Gas Co-ops Ltd. One of our largest courses is Gas Utility Operator Training, which over two years teaches students everything they need to know to safely operate a utility pipeline systems - from house meter to regulating stations

We know our people deserve the very best for the work they do, so almost all our gas co-ops offer top quality benefits and pension plans. Our

benefits plan covers everything including dental benefits, medical benefits, vision care, life insurance, travel medical insurance, and 100% prescription drug coverage. It's a one-stop shop for everything you need for your family in health benefits. Some of our utilities also offer health spending accounts that can be spent on anything wellness-related.

The Federation of Alberta Gas Co-ops Ltd. has had a successful pension plan for decades. In 2010, we decided to make it even bigger by partnering with the Alberta Municipal Services Corporation (AMSC). This partnership created the Alberta Communities Pension Plan, which is available not only to our gas utilities but to a wide range of municipalities and municipal organizations. It is a defined contribution plan that allows you to choose how to invest your own money.

Most importantly, our gas utilities live by the co-operative principles. We continue to be owned by our neighbours because we believe everyone should have the right to have a say in their own utility. Our utilities and our communities all work together to provide the best services possible for all rural Albertans, regardless of where they live.
